The Coincidenceof Callie& Kayden

Although I loved this book, I was not prepared for it to be a continued series.  The main character development was excellent and you can feel the intensity between Callie & Kayden. I loved all secondary characters as well. Even though this was young adult, the book exposes some huge issues that are tough to address. From the beginning I knew the deep secrets both characters were keeping, but I was obsessed with watching how they would be revealed. Callie & Seth's relationship was a beautiful example of trust and love that is born from tragedy.
I had huge issues with both the matriarchs in this book. Come on- your children are supposed to be protected and loved throughout their lives. How can you turn your back or ignore the signs for years in order to save your image? Not going to rant too long- but this was ridiculous!
Moving on...... I was glad to see the relationship born between C & K. They needed almost all the luck in the world to get together. The build up was rewarding knowing that Callie was so damaged she hid herself from any growing experiences. She never had friends, dates, social skills, etc. She locked herself in a trance until she could get to college and rebuild herself. On the other side, Kayden had it all- friends, sports, sex, good grades. When the depth of the abuse is exposed, you know he lived much like Callie with a greater facade.

I read this book in one sitting and felt the end was coming in a rush. with 13 pages left the climax started to unfold. As I said, I was not prepared for a series. The ending crippled me for a while.
**** Small Spoiler Alert*****

The first thing that came to mind when this book ended was "Ruining Me" by Nicole Reed. This is not a book for you to read if you were looking for the HEA.

Mad World Series

What can I say about these books? I will tell you now- They are tremendous!  From the first chapter to the last word, Christina Zolendz keeps the reader captivated with her story of a very troubled young girl with a secret that is out of this world. This series is labeled the "Mad World" series and I personally wish it will continue. Grace and Shane light up the pages with extreme tension- both sexually and emotionally throughout. The friendships in this book are also extraordinary and relay young adults devotion to one another.
I just can't say enough about Grace and her deep emotional state of mind that brought me to believe there can be a one true love in our lives.
I will follow Christina as she continues to write because I have become an absolute fan!!

Rock Chick Series- Kristen Ashley AAA++++

All I can say is that I can't wait until January when the last installment in this series is ready. Although I will be very sad at the end of this wonderful group of books- I will probably re-read them all!
If you are looking for suspense, humor, love, Alpha-Male command, steamy sex, etc...this is the series for you.
All seven books focus on one member of the "Rock Chick" & "Hot Bunch" and their story of falling in love.

Kristen Ashley has a wonderful style of writing and is able to really make a woman wish for her own hot- blooded alpha male.

Crossfire Trilogy- Sylvia Day

I wasn't quite sure if I even wanted to write about this series yet since I was so disappointed with Reflected In You, but I feel I need to write this down.
I have recently found a Fan Forum site as well as more information on Sylvia Day's website. The Forum does a great job allowing fans to reach out to Sylvia with their questions- after they have read the books. I may be able to finally get some answers to the unanswered questions and try to move forward with my extreme heartache that RIY left me.

Heartbreaking Second Course to this trilogy- Read with caution and Tissue. Sylvia Day took this to a new level and was really able to show the emotions and obsessive nature of it's main characters. She had some great twists that could be predicted - but they really intensified the story. (Who doesn't like a hot Rocker?)
As I read the first two in the series, I realized this was not going to be an easy love story. It is very easy to root for Eva and Gideon, but at some point you just want to yell at the book and demand some self respect. Gideon's arrogance and Eva's obsession can take your patience to the next level.
However, I am hoping these two can make it through and have a HEA ending- right now it seems unlikely.
I have discovered that EIY's release date has been pushed out to at least February- maybe even May. Sylvia is still working on the book and it sounds like it may be from Gideon's POV.

I am sure that I will wait impatiently for the release and pre-order just to satisfy my curiosity, but if I could start over- I would wait until all books were released before starting the series.

Thoughtless Trilogy

If you have not read this first two books in this trilogy- you are really missing out. This series has quickly become an obsession. I think everyone needs to have their own version of Kellan Kyle. I am on the edge waiting for the final installment to come out in March.
Thoughtless and Effortless are accumulations of a beautiful and warped love story between two people that have no idea of the depth of their emotions. Think of "emotional rush" meets "overdrive. You want to laugh, cry, scream, sing & dance, and jump in the middle of this love story.

Seriously, you will want to meet your own Kellan and get dirty with him!

Ruining Me

I must say- I had NO IDEA what I was getting myself into with this book. It was a new author and I was curious about the storyline. I was not prepared for the overflow of emotions that I felt when finished. I think  I may have to take a day off reading in order to get my heart back in check after reading Ruining Me. Just to let you know- there will be spoilers ahead.

This is not a Happily Ever After Novel- Far from it.

I think it is safe to say that Jay Stevenson is a broken young girl trying to escape one of the most terrifying experiences anyone can live through. She has alienated herself from all who love her and basically decided to live her life in a cloud of darkness and secrecy. It is pretty easy to figure out her secret in the first few chapters of the book, but you still find yourself cheering her on.
All of the men in this book are so lovable. You can really see how a girl could be torn about choosing just one. I found myself wanting all three of her suitors to win her love.

Nicole Reed leaves her readers with a devastating ending that tears up the hardest of hearts. I wept openly with the hope that she will please bring us the next installment of this story soon.

I recommend this book, but want to forewarn readers- this is not your typical "Contemporary Romance" novel.

On Dublin Street

This book came to Amazon much sooner than B&N so kindle reviewers had the opportunity to read and comment before nook readers could even purchase. I reached out to the Author and begged to know when it would be available. As promised, it wasn't too much longer and I bought and read in the same day.
This is really a wonderful love story that make me wish I could find my very own Braden Carmichael.

Samantha Young does an excellent job of bringing her readers into the world of Jocelyn Butler and her determination to hold the outside world at a distance. Through a heartbreaking tragedy, Joss losses everything and tries to live her life as emotionally void as she can. When she meets Ellie and Braden Carmichael, her world changes.
This book give readers all the elements of a wonderful love story with tremendous heartbreak and finally- acceptance. The sex is hot and steamy and the characters are extremely developed. I hated for this book to end!

Love Left Behind is a beautiful love story full of all the elements that make you laugh, cry, scream, and sigh with contentment. The passion between Emma and Jackson resonates off the pages and into the reader's heart. From the very start you cannot put this book down. S. H. Kolee takes you through a roller coaster ride full of love, passion, jealousy, determination, and complete HOTNESS!  The sex is steamy and the story evolves over a pretty long timeline- as compared to just a few weeks with other contemporary romance novels.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new author and a great love story.

Shadow Series (Books 1 & 2)

If you have not seen this series in your recommended reading list- you should take a look. This series falls more into "Paranormal Romance" than "Contemporary Romance" , but it is an interesting story that kept me turning the pages and wanting more. At the end of Chasing Shadows, I found myself crazy with curiosity.

I don't want to give too much away with the story, but I will say that you should be prepared to read these two books back-to- back. There is a third installment, but the author has not given the release date.
The main characters and sub characters in this series all have a very crucial part and you quickly learn to be weary of EVERYONE!
Even with the budding romance-the love story takes second role behind the main plot (once again- no spoilers).  So you should not read this series with the expectations of steamy sex scenes but you will find the chemistry is hot!

S.H. Kolee has created a great series and I am begging for the final book soon!  I need Simon Crewe back!

The Secret of Ella & Micha

This was a great read and lead in for the others to follow. This book gave great character development in order to actually understand the torment with both Ella and Micha. The unraveling of the love story is well-done with just the right amount torment. I was rooting for them to be together the whole time!
This is a great break though and I will follow this series as long as Jessica continues to write with the same style.
All the characters in this book are lovable in their own way. I can't wait for all their stories.

Note to Author- There is a huge fan base - including me- in love with Micha. I hope the next book will keep him as sexy and determined!

The Perfect Game - J. Sterling

This is the perfect book to start my new blog site!

I chose this book based on the fact that it was a fresh new author ( to me) and was a new read with no current reviews to give me any insight or opinions. GREAT DECISION!!
This was a terrific book with love, hate, redemption, forgiveness, and friendship. This story will make readers laugh, cheer, cry, scream, and root for this damaged relationship.

Synopsis:

Two beautiful young adults with damaging pasts connect with an explosive love story. There are barriers in the way of their future together that are almost insurmountable, but these two will try anything to make their love work even with severe trust issues and self-destructive behavior.

Cassie is a head-strong college junior determined to stay focused on her photography dream. She is firm in her belief that Jack Carter is bad news and she needs to stay away - for her head and her heart.

Jack Carter is the campus baseball star with the second title of "Campus Playboy". He easily admits to never sleeping with the same girl twice. He is relentless in his pursuit of Cassie with the promise of the fairytale ending.

As you can guess- their story has conflict and heart break and you find yourself in a love/hate dilemma. You will find yourself yelling and crying as the story unfolds. But don't give up.

If you are a fan of contemporary romance and love to find new authors, then I highly recommend this book. It completely covers all areas of contemporary romance with grace. I anxiously await J. Sterling's next book and hope she will find a way to continue the story of Cassie & Jack.  I propose a challenge to J. Sterling- "Prove It" that their can be a sequel to this beautifully damaged love story.
